Hughes Boy's Basketball Makes National Impact

The Hughes High School boy's basketball team took a trip to Sandestin Beach, Florida over winter break to compete in the Hilton Sandestin Beach Basketball Blowout. This tournament brought together high schools representing several states throughout the nation, including Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and more. Hughes, being the only Ohio high school, swept their opponents in 4 games on the way to winning the tournament championship.

Corry Long, SR. and Stony Brook University commit, led the Big Red on the court averaging 21.5 PTS, 7 AST, and 5 REB per game while earning tournament MVP honors. Dwayne Rosado, JR. also left his imprint on the tournament as he averaged 18.5 PTS and 3 AST per contest and was also named to the All-Tournament team. Both players were also rewarded by being named CMAC Athletes of the Week!

Hughes heads back to Cincinnati with quite a bit of momentum as they resume CMAC play on January 6 at Aiken High School.
