CMAC Girl's Basketball Game of the Week! (1/31/2017)

01/30/2017

This week, the CMAC will feature a girl's basketball CMAC Game of the Week! The Shroder Jaguars will look to seal the CMAC regular season title as they host Taft High School.

Shroder (11-8, 8-0) comes into the game still undefeated in CMAC play. Led by Dy'Jhanik Armfield (FR), who leads Shroder in points per game, the Jags will look to continue scoring the ball on offense at a CMAC best 48 points per game. The Jaguars also hold the best defense in the CMAC and they'll need to play together as a team if they want to beat the feisty Taft Senators!

Taft (9-8, 7-1) will look to play spoiler as their CMAC championship hopes are still alive. Ayanna Bond (SR), ranks 2nd in the CMAC for points per game with 12.6 and 1st in steals per game with 5.5! Lynese Brown and Shirelle Gaines both rank in the CMAC top 5 for blocks per game which will make it difficult for Shroder to get into the paint.

4 points separated these teams the first time they met this season when Shroder won by a score of 42-38. Look for another competitive game this time around as they duke it out for the regular season CMAC title! Game starts at 6 pm at Shroder High School!

UPDATE:

In a nail-biter, the Taft Sisterhood came up clutch as they hit the game winning bucket with 10 seconds remaining in the game! Click here to read about the CMAC Game of the Week in this week's 'Wrap Up Report'!
