CMAC Boy's Basketball Game of the Week! (2/3/2017)

For this week's CMAC Game of the Week, the Taft Senators will face the scorching hot Hughes Big Red on Friday night at 7:30 in a game that has CMAC title implications!

Taft (14-2, 6-1) comes off a challenging weekend in which they played Woodward and Summit Country Day on back to back days. Splitting with a win and a loss, the Senators know that each game is huge at this point. Coach Demarco Bradley Sr. will continue to push his guys and stress the importance of team basketball. Malek Green and company will have their work cut out for them as Hughes plays with tremendous tempo and has terrific scoring ability. Taft's starting lineup brings the two best shot blockers in the CMAC to the court. Look for the team that locks down on defense to make a difference in this game.

Hughes (14-3, 7-0) hasn't lost a game since early December. Coach Bryan Wyant has led his team to a sensational year to this point, bringing out the best in each of his players. Corry Long has been an instrumental part of the Big Red success as well. The future Stony Brook University star will want to leave his imprint on this game, but he'll also look for emerging point guard, Giovanni Santiago (JR), to help thwart the Senators.

If Hughes wins, they will clinch at least a share of the CMAC regular season title. Taft will look to keep their CMAC title hopes alive with a win on Friday.
