CMAC Game of the Week!

10/25/2017

It feels like we just kicked off the season, but this Friday marks the final regular season games for the CMAC in the 2017 football season. In addition, the final CMAC Game of the Week will feature the Woodward Bulldogs making their first trip of the season to Stargel Stadium as they'll take on the Taft Senators at 7 pm.

Woodward heads into the game eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn't mean they have nothing to play for. They're coming off a huge road win against Ponitz in which they shut out Ponitz for three quarters! SR running back Dasontez Hutchins had a huge game for the Bulldogs tallying 99 yards on 20 caries and finding the end zone once on a 2 yard dive. On the defensive side of the ball, JR defensive linemen Robert Holland played well forcing two fumbles and recovering one of them! The blue and white will have their hands full trying to stop Taft's quick hit offense but if they can match their defensive effort from the past month, things will be interesting!

Taft comes in to the game winners of their last six games after two consecutive losses early in the season. This puts the Senators at #2 in the region as they have their eyes on a home playoff game for the first time in recent history. Cleveland Farmer is coming off a monster performance in which he racked up over 300 yards of total offense and accounted for three separate scores against Zanesville. The objective for Taft seems to be getting the ball to their speedsters on the outside, Demarco Bradley Jr and Deshawn Lawrence. Collectively, the pair have scored 13 touchdowns on the season. In addition, Deshawn Lawrence has recorded at least 90 yards receiving in 6 of 9 games so far this season after playing quarterback for the past three years. Look for him to play a big role for the Senators if they want to continue their offensive success.

The stage is set, a home playoff game is on the line, and both teams are prepared to battle it out on the field in the season finale. Make sure you get out to Stargel Stadium on Friday night for a 7 pm kick off!
