CMAC Wrestling Ends Regular Season on a High Note!

On Saturday, February 3, Hughes High School hosted the CMAC Wrestling Classic! Schools that participated included Aiken, Hughes, Shroder & Western Hills.

The day started with each team meeting around the mat, shaking hands & standing together as one while the National Anthem played and wrestlers began to narrow their focus on their opponents. In all, 13 different weight classes saw champions crowned as CMAC bragging rights were on the line.

What's worth noting was the sportsmanship and respect shown between each program, as they battled on the mat, but cheered each other on otherwise. Each school joined together and celebrated as medals were distributed at the podium, whether for their team or another. You could feel the CMAC family atmosphere around the entire gymnasium.

At the end of the day, the Aiken Falcons came home as team champions! CMAC Wrestler of the Year was also announced, and we saw two student-athletes tie for the honor. Keoni Jones (Aiken) and Ronnie Harris (Hughes) split the award and will go down in history as two of the best from 2018!
