Skyline Crosstown Showdown!


Week 1 of Ohio High School Football started on a high note as Stargel Stadium hosted Woodward and Withrow High Schools on Wednesday, August 22. As a feature in the Skyline Crosstown Showdown, Cincinnati Public Schools showcased one of the oldest rivalries around!

At the end of the day, Woodward came out on top with a 31-0 victory over the Tigers to tally their first win on the season! Emerging sophomore, Denarius McKenzie was named game MVP as he ran for 115 yards and 2 TDs! Woodward comes back next week as they'll host Chaminade Julienne at Woodward High School on Friday, August 31.

On Thursday night, the Taft Senators hosted the Thurgood Marshall Cougars at Stargel Stadium as another feature in the Skyline Crosstown Showdown. The Senators wasted no time in gaining an early lead and never let go. Taft ended up winning by a score of 34-0 and senior speedster, Demarco Bradley Jr was named MVP of the game with a rushing TD as well as a receiving TD. Taft is back in action next week as they'll play host to local power-house, Wyoming at Stargel Stadium on Friday, August 31 at 7:00 pm.
