Taft Senators Epic Comeback to Stun Archbishop Alter in Overtime

In one of the most thrilling comebacks in recent seasons, the Taft Senators overcame a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Archbishop Alter 33-27 in overtime.

The game opened with Taft striking first. Quarterback connected on a 30-yard touchdown pass to Lorenzo McMullen, giving the Senators an early 7-0 lead. Alter responded quickly, tying the game just three minutes later. At the end of the first quarter, the scoreboard read 7-7.

Alter took control before halftime, adding another score to go up 13-7 at the break. They continued to apply pressure in the third quarter, extending their lead to 20-7, a score that held going into the final 12 minutes of regulation.

Early in the fourth quarter, Alter appeared to put the game away with another touchdown, pushing the lead to 27-7 with just under 10 minutes to play. But the Senators were far from finished.

With 7:20 remaining, Taft scored to cut the lead to 27-13. Then Lorenzo McMullen found the end zone once again, bringing the Senators even closer, 27-19 with 4:42 left. The momentum had fully shifted.

On Alter’s next possession, Nakai Hill came up with a huge interception, setting up Taft at the 1-yard line. Moments later, Suki powered in for a touchdown, and the Senators converted the two-point play to tie the game at 27-27 with just over three minutes to go.

Regulation ended with the score still tied, sending the game into overtime. That’s where Taft sealed the comeback, scoring the game-winning touchdown to complete a stunning 33–27 victory.

Withrow’s Dantrell Moses Lands on ESPN with Jaw-Dropping One-Handed Touchdown Catch

Some plays go down in program history and others make it all the way to national TV. Withrow senior wide receiver Dantrell Moses did both with one unforgettable moment under the Friday night lights.

During Withrow’s matchup against Chaminade Julienne, Moses made an amazing one-handed touchdown catch that left fans in awe and the internet buzzing. Reaching high over a defender, Moses hauled in a perfectly placed pass and landed smoothly in the end zone, a moment of pure athleticism and control.

The play was captured on video and quickly gained attention online. It didn’t take long before ESPN’s SportsCenter took notice, featuring the catch on its nationally televised segment of the night’s top plays.

More than just a viral moment, the catch highlights the level of elite talent coming out of the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference. For Dantrell Moses, it’s a play that won’t be forgotten and a sign of even bigger things ahead not just for him, but for the team.
